Workshop 2
So hello again folks. This is my workshop 2 at iAnimate, which I’m really excited about learning body mechanics. Awesome stuff!!
My instructor is Mike Safianoff right now, who is a young and talented guy works at Dreamworks Animation SKG. He worked on films like Iron Man 2, Cats and Dogs, Puss in Boots, Madagascar 3.
In the last workshop Bill Tessier told us that the body mechanics are very very important. Now I’m going to learn how to use video reference and introduction to body mechanics. I always wanted to get into this level for animation since 2008. Now I follow my dream very closely.
Important Note: Due to the copycats I won’t share my progress on this blog. The only thing you’ll see maybe my private progress reel in every 3 months of time. I’m thinking of a plan. But I’ll share some new things that I read and learn on this blog to keep the followers updated.
Until next time, take care.
Workshop 1 - Progress Reel
Sorry for the long delay, but now I reckon my video for Workshop 1 - Progress Reel. I’ve been in a long pause on the blog since my last TOTS assignment. But with this reel (it’s my first reel, yaaaay!!) you can see works that I did in the past 12 weeks. There is only 2 weeks until the end of this brilliant workshop. I feel very lucky learn from professional animators, and Bill Tessier is a really really nice guy and I learned tons from him. Also my classmates, Matteo Sanna and Ricardo Bjerke are really funny and nice guys, and we helped each other a lot on many occassions.
I hope I’ll continue to Workshop 2 and I’ll post many new and good things on this blog. Keep watching me, if you are really watching :) Bye!
Intro to iAnimate
Hello all,
I’m writing this blog in English so my foreign friends can easily read it too. Today I started the Advanced Character Animation education at iAnimate. It’s a workshop created by Jason Ryan -who is an animator at Dreamworks- to give animators what they need in the industry.
Jason Ryan is a really funny and a cool guy and iAnimate is a fantastic environment. It’s an online workshop though but the main thing is that the lessons are live recorded and everyone is helpful to each other. I already started making some friends from different countries. My classmates are from Italy, USA, Canada, France etc. and my instructor at Workshop 1 is a guy called Bill Tessier, who is an animator at Dreamworks right now. He worked at several feature films like, Kung-fu Panda 2, How to Train your Dragon and so forth.
Our first assignment will be a typical “Bouncing Ball” exercise. But even it’s just a simple exercise, it is probably the most important thing for an animator to understand the fundamentals.
I will be posting my progress reels and some animation related topics from this blog throughout the workshops. So watch me and comment on my topics if you like. I’ll be really glad.
See you soon
